In thinking about a sustainable society, it is absolutely essential to consider the connection between our lives and nature. Through this program, participants will learn about the lifestyle and culture of the people of Okinawa, who have lived in harmony with nature.

[Walk and observe the coral]
When the tide goes out, you can see natural coral and colorful tropical fish in the tide pools (ino). Experience the abundance of the ocean and learn how coral has influenced the lives of people.
[Touch and feel natural Kucha]
When digging a little part of the beach reveals black clay-like soil. This soil is called Kucha, and is found only in the central and southern parts of the main island of Okinawa. In addition to being used as a raw material for the red roof tiles of Shuri Castle, Kucha has also been used as a substitute for shampoo.
[Old Okinawan Houses]
A visit to an old traditional Okinawan house. The roof is made of Kucha, and the surrounding stone walls and foundations of the house use Ryukyu limestone made from coral, showing the connection between the sea and the lives of people.
