[Experience of visiting the Gama]
Taking advantage of the geological features of the natural limestone cave, the Krashin Ujo shelter was used as a base by the Japanese military during the war. By entering the Gama and experiencing what the situation was like at the time, we can contemplate peace for the future.
[Coral reef formations seen from the beach]
Coral reefs surround the island of Okinawa. As well as serving as a natural embankment, the beautiful sandy beaches attract travelers and the coral also plays a role in the lives of the Okinawan people in the form of Ryukyu limestone.
[Forest preserving a precious ecosystem]
The Forest of Horohoro has been left untouched in the southern part of Okinawa, where urbanization is progressing. About 100 plant and animal species have been found here, forming a precious ecosystem, and you can also see city walls from the Gusuku era hidden under the vegetation.
