This is a reproduction of the residence of “Jana Ueekata,” a member of the Ryukyu King’s closest advisors. This restaurant was originally located in Shuri Castle town. The Janatei is a shoin-zukuri-style structure and has a garden with a tropical atmosphere. It serves Okinawan cuisine with traditional Ryukyuan dance performances. Abundant local ingredients are used in the dishes. On your seat, there are Okinawan musical instruments such as sanba, yotsudake, and paranku, so that visitors can join the performances given at the restaurant.
